Octo Browser alternative
Octo Browser is a well-built anti-detect browser with a serious reputation among people running large profile counts, and at the top end it does things Parallel does not. This is the honest comparison: two differences settle it for most people before price is even discussed, and then the price gap is wider than you would guess.
Figures checked 15 October 2026
Octo's numbers are from their own pricing page, read on that date. They are quoted in euros and exclude VAT, which is added depending on your country, so the real figure is higher than the one shown. Parallel's are its current prices, in dollars and inclusive. Pricing moves; check both before deciding.
Start here: two things that decide it
Parallel is Windows only. Octo ships for Windows, macOS and Linux. If you are not on Windows, the comparison is over and Octo wins it, because software that does not run on your machine is not cheaper at any price. A Parallel profile can present a macOS fingerprint, which is the identity it reports to sites, not the computer it runs on.
Octo has no free tier. There is a two-day trial of the Starter plan with a promo code, and that is it. Parallel's three profiles are free forever, with the same fingerprint engine the paid tiers use. If you want to test an anti-detect browser properly rather than inside a 48-hour window, that difference is the whole story.
What each costs
| Parallel | Octo Browser | |
|---|---|---|
| Free tier | 3 profiles, forever | None (2-day trial) |
| Entry paid, monthly | $8/mo for 25 profiles | €10/mo for 3 profiles |
| First usable paid tier | $8/mo for 25 profiles | €29/mo for 10 profiles |
| 100 profiles | $29/mo ($239/yr) | €79/mo |
| Team members included | 5, on every paid plan | 3, from the €169 tier |
| Largest standard tier | 500 profiles, $79/mo | 1,200 profiles, €329/mo |
| Platforms | Windows only | Windows, macOS, Linux |
| VAT | Included | Added on top |
Reading that table honestly
At comparable profile counts Parallel is substantially cheaper. A hundred profiles costs $29 a month here against €79 there, and that gap is before VAT is added to the Octo figure. At the entry level the shape differs rather than the price: Octo's €10 Lite tier buys three profiles, which is what Parallel gives away, and its first tier with enough profiles to do real work is €29 for ten against $8 for twenty-five.
Team access is four tiers apart. Parallel includes five members on every paid licence, with roles and per-person profile access. Octo's first plan with team members at all is Team, at €169 a month, and it includes three. If two people need to touch the same accounts, that one row decides the comparison regardless of everything else in the table.
Above a few hundred profiles, Octo pulls ahead. Parallel's largest standard tier is 500 profiles. Octo's Advanced tier starts at 1,200 and extends to 100,000, with unlimited team members and API limits you can raise. If that is the scale you work at, Parallel does not have a plan for you and Octo does.
What is actually the same
Both give every profile its own fingerprint, cookie jar, storage and proxy, and both keep those identities coherent rather than merely unique, which is the thing that actually matters and the thing every vendor in this category claims. Both run unlimited devices on one account, both offer automation, and both will be entirely adequate for ordinary multi-account work. Feature lists will not separate these two products, which is why this page is mostly about price and scale.
Where Parallel is different
- Team seats are not a tier. Five logins with per-group and per-profile access come with every paid licence, not with the €169 one. How members work.
- The free tier is a product, not a trial. Three profiles, no expiry, full fingerprint engine, no card.
- Automation is no-code. Octo's API starts at its €79 tier and expects you to write against it. Parallel's RPA builder is included everywhere, with a local API and an MCP server if you do want to write code.
- Prices are inclusive and in dollars. No VAT line appearing at checkout.
When to stay with Octo Browser
Three cases, and they are real ones:
- You are not on Windows. This is not close. Octo runs where Parallel does not.
- You need more than 500 profiles. Parallel has no tier above that. Octo goes to 100,000.
- You need high-rate API access. Octo sells raised RPM and RPH limits as a product. Parallel's API is local and not built for that volume.
Outside those three, the comparison comes down to paying roughly half as much per profile and getting team access without buying a tier for it.
Test it rather than trusting either of us
We have an obvious interest in this answer, so do not take it on faith. Parallel's free tier exists precisely so you do not have to: create a profile, bind a proxy, and run it through our fingerprint test, which works on any browser including Octo. If a tool's output contradicts itself there, no pricing table matters.
Three profiles free, forever
Enough to run a real comparison rather than a two-day one.
