macOS and Linux builds are not available yet.
Installing
- Run the downloaded
Parallel-Setup-<version>.exe. - Windows will show “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway. See below for why that appears.
- Choose an install location, or accept the default.
- On first launch the app downloads its browser engine. That takes a minute or two on a normal connection and only happens once.
- Create an account or sign in — this is what syncs your profiles between machines.
Why Windows shows a warning
The installer is not code-signed. A signing certificate is an ongoing cost we have not taken on while the app is young, and SmartScreen warns about any installer from a publisher it does not recognise yet. The warning is about an unrecognised publisher — not about anything detected in the file.
You do not have to take our word for that, which is the point of the next section.
Verify your download
Every release publishes the SHA-256 hash of its installer. Comparing it proves the file you have is byte-for-byte the one we built, and that nothing altered it in between.
- Open the published checksum for the current release.

In PowerShell, hash your copy:
Get-FileHash .\Parallel-Setup-<version>.exe -Algorithm SHA256 - Compare the two strings. Identical means the file is genuine; different means do not run it.

Need more than three profiles? Licences raise the cap for a month, six months or a year. Nothing auto-renews and no card is stored — when a licence lapses you keep your account and your data, and profiles over the free limit are frozen rather than deleted.
Updates
Updates are opt-in. When a newer version exists the app shows an “Update to…” button in the top bar; nothing downloads or installs until you click it, and the app restarts into the new build when it finishes.
